Second final for Austria in a row: after Alexander and Robin reached the finals in Doha, Steffi and Babsi follow in Xiamen!

Stefanie Schwaiger and Barbara Hansel beat triple Olympic winner Kerri Walsh and her partner April Ross from the USA in the semifinals of the Xiamen Open (China) in three sets (9-21,21-18,21-12).

“Unbelievable! During the first set things were looking quite bad for us but then we took more risks and it started working out,” said the two exceptional athletes in a first reaction after the win over tournament favorites Walsh/Ross from the USA.

In their first final as a team, the Lower Austrian and the Salzburger meet the Swiss team Isabelle Forrer/Anouk Vergé-Dépré.
