Young boys from Brazil confident of glory in years to come
Brazilian young guns Guto/Saymon were not disappointed by losing in the final of the A1 Major Klagenfurt because they have even higher hopes in four years’ time!
The up-and-coming duo completed a wonderful week by the Wörthersee with a first medal in a Swatch Major Series as they oozed confidence and class to finish in second place.
“We are only 22 but we are working hard for Japan 2020!” said a happy Guto after he and Saymon picked up shiny silver medals on the Center Court.
“We’re always confident because we’re from Rio!
“I’m happy with this first medal, especially here in Klagenfurt because the tournament is amazing, the people are beautiful and we hope to better this result next year!
“There’s no better place to put on a show like Klagenfurt. The Latvians were stronger but we’re happy with second place!”
The duo are one of a string of sensational teams from Brazil on the FIVB World Tour – but that’s not an issue for these two!
“It’s no problem!” smiled Guto. “We are confident and we are young, and we have a long career in beach volleyball ahead of us”
They won the Cincinnati Open this year and we’re pretty confident we haven’t seen the last of them in a Swatch Major Series finale!
Keep up the good work, boys!
